But shooting and stabbing ruled out as causes of death.

An Associated Press article concerning the deaths of Chris, Nancy and Daniel Benoit says that authorities are investigating the deaths as homicides.

While specific details have not yet been released, a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution cited officials in ruling out a shooting.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Tommy Pope told the AP that there were also no signs of stabbing. Poisoning, suffocation and strangulation have not been ruled out as possible causes of death, but nothing can be confirmed until the results from an autopsy have been made available.

The autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday at 10AM.
