Update On WWE’s Offer To Big Show
February 28th, 2007 by Brian Cantor
According to the Wrestling-Observer Newsletter, WWE recently offered Big Show a $250,000 contract to retain his intellectual property rights through February 2008. Big Show declined.
The deal essentially would have paid Big Show to sit home; it included no wrestling requirement. Nonetheless, the wrestler opted not to sign on the dotted line.
WWE will apparently offer a similar deal to high-profile wrestlers who lose their desire to continue wrestling full-time. The deal enables WWE to continue releasing merchandise depicting the wrestler’s name and prevent him from jumping to TNA or a mixed martial arts company.
