MTV Pulls Wrestling Society X Episode

The next WSX pulled from MTV’s schedule
PWInsider.com is reporting that MTV cancelled the scheduled airing of Wrestling Society X’s fourth episode.
The cancellation was reportedly a standards and practices issue concerning an angle involving a fireball. While MTV executives initially approved the idea for IWA Puerto Rico star Ricky Banderas to throw a fireball in Vampiro’s face, the network reversed its decision upon viewing the finished product. Next Tuesday’s WSX will be replaced.
According to producer Kevin Klinerock, there has been an ongoing concern within MTV that young viewers might attempt to recreate some of the stunts seen on WSX programming. While some violent stunts were approved due to their fantasy, unrealistic nature, MTV felt uncomfortable airing this particular spot.
As of press time, this was the only episode expected to be cancelled—MTV had not moved to permanently pull the series, despite the most recent airing scoring a mere 0.5 rating.
