– Since Undertaker vs. Batista is the plan for WrestleMania, Undertaker is a favorite to win Royal Rumble. Shawn Michaels, Edge and Orton—the expected candidates for the WWE Championship bout against Cena—are also favorites for that reason. No one else has been included in discussions for a WrestleMania main-event (and pushing ECW does not appear to be a priority for WWE), so unless WWE repeats last year and has the winner unsuccessfully put his title shot on the line in February, the winner will be one of the four aforementioned names.
– The ECW Championship match is designed to put Bobby Lashley over as a monster, but it’s possible Test might get to save some face since ECW is short on top heels.
– There are no plans to take the belt off John Cena, so he will likely score the victory over Umaga; the same goes for Batista’s match against Kennedy. The only possible alternative is if WWE decides to go for swerve finishes (since much of the card is predictable) and have Cena or Batista win his belt back next month.
