News on the past few buyrates for WWE PPVs

As UFC’s PPV buyrates continue to skyrocket, WWE has been facing increasing difficulty in obtaining pay-per-view orders, especially on a domestic level. If not for a strong increase in international PPV buys, the WWE buyrates would be dropping off noticeably.

WWE released buyrate information for recent PPVs in its quarterly earnings statement.

WWE Judgment Day: 231,000 (236,000 last year)
ECW One Night Stand: 280,000 (268,000 last year)
WWE Vengeance: 313,000 (320,000 last year)
WWE Great American Bash: 224,000 (233,000 last year)

It should be noted that WWE began charging $39.95 for its events with this year’s “One Night Stand,” compared to last year’s $34.95 price tag.
