Report: Kurt Angle Wanted Off ECW?

Did Kurt Angle want to be on RAW or SmackDown?

There are reports going around that prior to his release, Kurt Angle told friends he wanted off the ECW brand.
Angle reportedly expressed the belief that he only wanted to be on ECW if he could get a championship push. A number of wrestlers actually went to Johnny Ace and Vince McMahon requesting that Angle be moved to another brand.
It is unclear if this, if even true, had anything to do with his release, but it is known that the biggest issues Angle faced at the end of his WWE tenure were family problems and injuries.
