ROH to run in Chicago before ‘Mania; TNA will not
The Wrestling-Observer reports that Dutch Mantell was pushing to run a TNA house show in Chicago the day before WrestleMania, but the plans never got off the ground.
By virtue of being WWE’s biggest annual event, WrestleMania will attract wrestling fans from all over the country (and world) to Chicago; TNA would have had a huge market to which to promote its live product.
Ring Of Honor, however, did follow through with running pre-WrestleMania shows in the area. Such a business move has become something of a loose tradition for Ring Of Honor, and the lack of TNA presence enables the company to utilize a good portion of its roster.
